Hello everybody!

I need your help!
I have recently acquired a Tezro. 4x700MHz, 5GB RAM, 36GB HD, VPro V12 dual DVI, DM3 and VBOB.
IRIX 6.5.30, Flame 9.5.14 / 8.5.2 and Smoke 7.0.14 / 6.7.7 were installed. (see attached pictures)

I would love to use Flame and Smoke, but there is a license error whenever I try to launch any of them.
In fact, I want to input video via the Video breakout box (through an SDI-HDMI converter), "play" with the video, and output to my TV.
Of course, I am not using any of these beasts to make money or even remotely professionally.

The person from whom I bought the Tezro told me that I need a Fibre Channel array (Stone?) in order to do that. In addition to licenses.
Tezro has two FC controllers already installed but as of now I don't have any FC array.
Is it possible to license these programs or install another version of them? (Flame 2008 SP6, Smoke 2008 SP6?)
Could someone point me to the right direction?
I have little experience on IRIX, but I have used Linux, MacOSX and Windows extensively for the past 20+ years.

I am also willing to pay for information and additional hardware (if needed).
I am really grateful to anyone who shares any knowledge.

PS: I recorded a short video of Tezro booting and me trying to launch Flame and Smoke.

Hi,
for Smoke 7.0.14 you can use the "swr-license-Hack" to trick the Stone-Config-Tool.
I run fire 7.0.14 (more or less the same as Smoke only on Onyx-Systems) with a 15-bay HP Storageworks Array with 300GB-Fibre Channel Drives. Runs perfect.
The Installation Guides (in the documentation-folder /usr/discreet/smoke7_0_14/documentation) are really great sources for setting up the system. If you want to know something special: leave me a PN.

Greetings
Timo
Is that the one from marktplaats.nl? (similar specs and also complaining about the date).

Normally, I believe the Discreet software license is nodelocked to the ID of the system and to a dongle attached to a serial port. Older versions of the software required framestore disks (stones) with a specific ID in the firmware, but I believe this restriction was lifted at some point. This can be worked around with the /etc/swr-license file which has a long text string in it, but I don't think this is your problem. I think your problem is with the license of the main application, not the framestore.

I heard, there exists a keygen Wink
Thank you for the fast and useful responses!

I believe that I have the swr-license file. Placing it in the /etc folder will allow me to use any FC array
and not only framestore disks (stones) with a specific ID in the firmware, right?
This Tezro is not from marktplaats.nl, but from a seller in Germany.
I, too, believe that my "first" problem is licensing the main application.
Do you believe that getting an FC array is mandatory?
No, it is not mandatory, but you need high read/write rates, especially for HD
