Temperature in O2

Post by blacksmith » Tue Jul 24, 2018 8:40 pm

Hello there,
Is there any way to monitor/check the temperature inside an O2?

Thanks

You can attach temperature probes inside the system and read them from openings like the PCI port.

If you are concerned about high temperatures inside the system, make sure to use either the original Panaflo PSU fan or a close match.

I monitor the exhaust from the psu with a thermometer and 34 to 36 degrees Celsius seems to be typical for R12k systems. Don't leave them running when temperatures exceed 36 degrees.

Also try to run the system without PCI card but with a blanking plate in front of the PCI slot. It seems to improve airflow from bottom to top

I've never really understood the massively over engineered pci tray in the O2, it simply does not need a base plate, just a frame will do.

I reecntly held a laser thermometer to my fully loaded R12k 400mhz o2 - the air intake is at around the base, the air out is through the PSU fan (you can verify this with a piece of paper). If with fully loaded CPU process running, it never seemed to go over 100F, hovered very often around 90F-95F. I can try some other o2's soon. I had a more complete analysis on nekochan and I can't find it on archive.org
