I play Eve Online exclusively. I'm actually starting to write a fan fiction/ongoing autobiography of my two mains, a brother/sister pair trying to co-exist in New Eden without killing each other.

Haven't touched a game for the last years, but I love RTS games: Dune, WarCraft, Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, ...

I dream of a day when I have enough time to port natively WarCraft 2 (of course with multiplayer support) to IRIX or any other "alien" OS. That'd be fantastic!

Regarding RTS games on IRIX:

Dune 2 via DuneLegacy I got compiled on IRIX but core dumps. My hacks/mods to get it to compile seem to have a problem. its so close though.

I attempted Stratagus (Wargus for Warcraft 2 and Stargus for Starcraft) on IRIX.. seems promising as some versions work with SDL 1.2 (nekoware's version) .. but it needs work to port to IRIX.

RPG on IRIX:
Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale.. etc... all run via GemRB. GemRB compiles and runs on IRIX but at set places in the game it crashes. Needs someone to sit down and review what is going on.

Solaris/SPARC has more success with GemRB and other games though.

Do you by any chance have any cool games already complied that would run on my V880z under Solaris 10?

I tried EO for a bit but just couldn't get my head into it, very good market / currency system though.

Wow this is sort of awesome - I had no idea this sort of level of gaming was even remotely possible on IRIX.. even though its not really fully working..

I'm just waiting on the sidelines for classic wow servers, I'm tired of leveling up on a private server and loosing everything eventually.

Hm, I just picked up the extra Quake episode iD did for the 20th anniversary a couple years back, and now it strikes me that I should really take a stab at getting that going on my O2, just for the sake of running a modern expansion for a 22-year-old game on a contemporary platform... :D

Yup, here you go: https://cdn.bethsoft.com/quake/dopa.rar

You'll need to extract it to a ./dopa subdirectory in the Quake basedir and start it with -game dopa of course.
