O2 250MHz R10000 with 1024MB RAM and 36 GB HDD, flat panel card and 16000sw (it's my main computer; I have a 275MHz CPU upgrade available but I still have not decided it it is necessary to do such upgrade)

O2 200MHz R6000 with 256MB RAM (I think, I was not used for ages) and 18 GB HDD, broken CD-ROM. It has Presenter card.

Indy 175MHz R4400SC with 256MB RAM and 18 GB HDD, XZ gfx, external Toshiba CD-ROM (original SGI add-on)

Indy 150MHz R4400SC with 128MB RAM and 9 GB HDD, XL24 (I didn't runed it for years)

Indigo 33MHz R3000 with 96MB RAM and two 512MB HDDs, XL24Z, DDS-1 tape (rebadged as Siemens Nixdorf)

Indigo 100MHz R4000 with 96MB RAM and 2GB HDDs, Entry gfx

Octane 2x400MHz R12000 with 2048MB RAM and 72GB HDD, SI

Octane 250MHz R10000 with 2048MB RAM and 4GB HDD, SI (the machine it does not work)

Empty case for Indigo R3000

Also have a spare 1600sw and some never used spare parts: the screen (with original protector on the screen) and a leg. And GDM20D11 CRT - but it also does not work.
I am probably posting from moose, SGI O2 with R10k/250, 1GB RAM, and running IRIX 6.5.27

I have a specimen of just about every generation of MIPS/IRIX systems. I'm not interested in the newer IA64 or x86 systems, and sadly I never could get an M68K IRIS. Most are maxed out in terms of CPUs, memory and graphics. They often have interesting options like video options, FDDI, PCI cages etc etc.

Here's the list:
  • A Professional IRIS 4D/70 GT -- sadly with a graphics problem that prevents booting into NeWS or X11
  • A PowerSeries 4D/380VGX predator rack with VideoLab and SDI digital video. Came from a German Fraunhofer institute.
  • A PowerSeries 4D/440VGX deskside with some sort of GVO option
  • A Crimson Reality Engine
  • An Onyx1 IR -- again, RM problems
  • A Challenge L deskside, with 12x R10K CPUs *or* 12x R4400 *or* 6x R8000 CPUs depending on what I want to do.
  • An Onyx2 IR3 with R14K CPUs, HD-TVO and DMediaPro options
  • A "Discreet" Tezro with all the DMediaPro bells and whistles
  • An Octane2 V12 with all the DMediaPro bells and whistles
  • A Personal IRIS 4D/35 with VideoCreator (single frame video I/O)
  • An Indigo R3K with Chyron Centaur video, originates from the Dutch "Maarten Toonder" studios
  • An Indigo R4400 which came from NASA
  • An Indy R4400 XZ
  • An Indy R5000
  • A Challenge S
  • An O2+ R7000 (purple)
  • An O2 R12K (blue)
  • An Octane MXE
  • An Indigo2 R4400 Extreme
  • A PowerIndigo2 (R8000) XZ
  • An Indigo2 R10K MaxImpact
  • A Fuel
  • A Fuel prototype (blue)
  • An Origin 200 (with intact skins!)
  • ... and a dual module Origin 350
There's often other hardware around that I sell later on or maybe keep. Right now there's a purple Indigo2 with 250MHz R4400 and SolidImpact sitting under my desk that came up in the neighborhood for a price I couldn't resist. It's a pretty decent IRIX 5.3 system and I currently use it for a project I work on every now and then.

Wouldn't you rather use the Octane as a daily driver?

The O2 is much more quiet. I run Octane when I need more power.
