What Wacom tablet best for Octane
I see Irix overlays come with Wacom drivers and Jaleo install contains drivers as well.  My question is which series of Wacom tablets work best with SGIs.
Octane 2x400mhz R12000A Octane, MXE, 4gig Ram

1600SW O2 400mhz R12000 O2, 1gig Ram AV1 - 250gig Media' raid

Indy 180mhz R5000 Indy XZ 256mb ram

Intel i7-990x 3.46GHz Extreme 6 core / Quadro 5000 & 2 x Tesla C2075 / 24gig Ram

Belkin Omniview SE Pro 4 port KVM connecting all 4 systems displaying on one 27" BenQ Zowie monitor.

Old serial ones like the ArtPad II 12x12 and the more "recent" Wacom graphire should work fine, but driverwise i can't remember exactly when to use the wacom driver in IRIX or get the driver from the wacom site. I believe it's different for different models.

Apparently the Cintiq15X works with Irix (and solaris): https://wacom.com/-/media/wacomdotcom/fi...manual.pdf

However the manual mentions to purchase this additional... wacom unix kit... which brought me to this:

That cable is simply a db-9 serial to 8 pin minidin converter for use with Indy's and Indigo(2)
The drivers were downloadable from the wacom site, and should still float around. I should have a copy somewhere

I was looking that the Intuos 2 specifically the XD-0608-R (Serial 9pin version). It looks like the same tablet seen in photographs showing Octane flame and Avid advertisments.

If anyone has the wacom drivers for IRIX, that would be awesome to post to the FTP.

I found this link that gives step by step on how to install the Wacom driver from the IRIX 6.5 overlay CDs and only the control panel fromthe Wacom_IRIX_Drivers.tar file that 'im sure some has' This method sees to work on Artpad and Intuos tablets but not the older digitizer models. Link below.

If anyone has the IRIX Wacom driver pack tar file, that would be super.

I found the Wacom SGI Driver package Wacom_SGI_4.8.0.tar.gz !!  I just dont know how to upload to the FTP

The file is downloadable from the SGI_Depot's website.

I've got an Intuos 1 A5 and it works perfectly with Irix 6.5.26 and Wacom SGI driver 4.8.0.
It's a pleasure to use it with graphic or compositing softwares.

From memory when installing, Flame, Jaleo both include their own drivers for Wacom. I think Avid Matador either has drivers included or it askes you if you want to set up the tablet during install.

I waiting for my Intuos 2 Serial to arrive as I cant wait to try it out.

Yes but if you have the original Wacom driver installed they don't work. In that case you have to configure IFFFS to use the Wacom driver in 'init.cfg'. I don't rebember what happens with Jaleo.

I used Intuos and Intuos 2 with both drivers but not alot. I can't find any difference in install one driver or the other. BTW my Intuos is an GD-0608-R (A5) and the Intuos 2 XD-1218-R. I feel more practical the little one, and it can stay on my desktop.
