GLperf building error

GLperf building error
Can anyone compile GLperf for me please? I think arch=MIPS2 will be best. I tried to build it by myself (MIPSPro 7.4, both "sgi make" and "gnu make" - same error) several times but it complains about missed brackets or something like this. I can't say now more correctly as I have no access currently to SGI. Here is the link - http://web.archive.org/web/2000082310291...glperf.tgz. Here are some charts in case of some interest - https://www.spec.org/gwpg/pastissues/Aug...glperf.htm.

Re: GLperf building error
It says GLscrip8.tgz is also needed in order to compile glperf.tgz, do you know of anyplace where that can be downloaded? Google comes up more or less blank. It really annoys me when these so-called "organizations" yank their free software downloads with no explanation...

No, as far as I know scripts are not needed for compilation but for use after building. This tgz only contains description of tests (https://www.spec.org/gwpg/opc/glperf_pub...mmary.html). Did you try compile it? What did compiler say?

PS: some info - http://web.archive.org/web/2000102602282...index.html.

No, but now knowing that the scripts aren't required for the compilation I'll give it a try...

Re: GLperf building error
I managed to get this to build on 6.5.30 using 7.4.4m + gmake.

I modified the Makefile.unx to add "-mips2" to the CCFLAGS and LFLAGS.

Had to change a bunch of C++ style comments in MakeTab.c (change lines with // to have C comments of /* comment goes here */) - at a guess the cc available for the mips2 target isn't recent enough to handle C++ comment style.

Then make sure current directory is in current PATH (e.g. under bash export PATH=.:$PATH).

Then:

gmake -f Makefile.unx sgi

I haven't been able to get it running to _do_ anything, as it seems to be expecting a bunch of configuration/input files to drive what it tests.

Edit: tarball available here for 30 days: https://ufile.io/6yck6

The MIPSPro C compiler has an option for that: '-Xcpluscomm', although it is required to use -n32 for that, which means it will be incompatible with '-mips2' as an output binary, as observed by MrThinly.

Why does the OP need -mips2 per se?

C99 will accept the c++ style comments without problems, as being part of the C99 standard. Unfortunately there isn't a MIPSPro 7.4.4 C99 compiler for mips2 processor support either.

Thank you very much! As far as I know configuration files one can take from Windows version (they should be the same).

And of course I can share it if anyone will have interest of it.) Very cool application to explore OpenGL behavior of various graphics subsystems.
