IRIX emulation is here!

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
It's in https://tudl1910.home.xs4all.nl/Indy_emu...irix62.chd . Its MD5 sum is a80b9fd19da385bdc4fc3bb65292f37b
The rom is at https://tudl1910.home.xs4all.nl/Indy_emu...225015.zip. Put it in the 'roms' directory of the mame source folder

If you have compiled mame the command to run is:
Code:
./mame64 ip225015 -hard1 irix62.chd

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
Thanks a lot for the IRIX 6.2 image!

Is it not possible to change disc images while Mame is running?

Tried mounting some ISO9660 CDs in IRIX 6.2 and 5.3 (mounted at bootup in MAME), using "mount -t iso9660 /dev/rdsk/dks0d6vol /CDROM", but could not get it to work:

mountcd: Unknown CD-ROM type (ýóé), may not function correctly
mount_iso9660: can't initialize /dev/rdsk/dks0d6vol: I/O error.
mount: giving up on: /CDROM

Any ideas?

As far as i know, no. The only way is to specify the images you want to run on the command line.

It's a bit of a long shot, but what might work is to create an EFS or XFS partition as a loop device, cram it full of software you want ot put on your emulated disk and convert it to CHD. Then enable a second disk in the Indy emulator and mount that CHD image.

Holy smokes ! it works !, so awesome (but SLOW).

Thanks so much, looks like wet dreams of several ex-nekochan members came true Tongue

Btw, I didn't have to compile mame, simply downloaded OSX release from their website and it works just fine.

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
Found a reference stating mount_iso9660 for Irix 5.3 at least expects a Sony or Toshiba CD-ROMs, MAME reports as something else, this results in the "Unknown CD-ROM type" message. Don't know if this is the reason for the "I/O Error". Anyone else make progress with mounting CDs (EFS or ISO9660) within Irix, after installing?

Just being verbose, but i could install the second part of IRIX 6.2 by making a CHD of the CD, then adding it to the command line:

Code:
./mame ip225015 -hard1 irix62.chd -cdrom1 irix62p2.chd

Inside the terminal i got after booting 6.2, i mounted the device with something like:

Code:
mount -t efs /dev/rdsk/dks0d6s7 /CDROM

or something similar, i forgot what the exact command was, though :o

This topic has made it to 4chan : http://boards.4channel.org/g/thread/7006...-works-now

The OP planted my screenshot at the first post, and they alreadly got hold of the irix62.chd file. I  expect an angry email from my provider soon for the bandwidth usage

4channers being gnufags as usual. Yes, I am a 4channer to some degree. The idiots shitting all over IRIX on there without ever having used it is priceless
